OWASP

Global

web platform redesign & optimization

I led the redesign and optimization of the global web presence for OWASP, a leading nonprofit in application security — improving usability, performance, and community engagement across a large-scale, mission-driven platform. I worked as full-stack developer, UX strategist, and product engineer. The project was delivered as part of prior work through Antimatter AI.

THE PROBLEM

The existing experience was fragmented across devices, navigation across OWASP’s extensive knowledge base was heavy, high-value actions such as membership and donations were easy to miss, and the site was not fully tuned for global community engagement or long-term content growth.

THE SOLUTION

Delivered a full platform redesign in React: a modern, responsive UI from desktop through mobile; simplified information architecture and navigation so resources and projects are easier to find; high-conversion surfaces for memberships and donations; and frontend performance work aimed at a global, high-traffic audience. The structure was designed to scale with an open-source security community — balancing education, usability, and nonprofit sustainability.

THE OUTCOME

The refresh strengthens OWASP’s role as a central hub for application security resources: clearer engagement paths, better visibility for membership and donation journeys, and improved performance and accessibility across devices. Product thinking centered on a global community ecosystem, scalable content, and aligning UX with long-term nonprofit goals.
